This team won the 2003 Georgia Elementary Championship and consistently ranks in the top 50 nationally. One of his Kittredge students won an individual first place in the Elementary Chess Nationals in Portland, OR (Spring, 2002).
Working with Early Childhood educators and chess experts, we have developed a "chess readiness" program for pre-K and K. We have also created “Work-along Books” and videos in the Scholastic Chess Series that help parents support their elementary and middle school children's learning, as well as learn the game themselves or improve their own chess skills.
Besides school chess clubs, Championship Chess sponsors chess camps and tournaments throughout the year for players of all abilities. Our coaches also do a lot of volunteer chess teaching at schools that otherwise wouldn't have chess and work within neighborhood chess clubs to encourage scholastic play.
